History

This beautiful Triumph Spitfire was sold new in the UK and road registered on June 30, 1971. In 1984 the car was imported to the Netherlands. The current owner has since 2023 enjoyed this beauty on many summer drives in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and in the Square Mountain Rally.

The Triumph Spitfire MK3

The Triumph Spitfire is a glorious design by the Italian stylist Michelotti who was responsible for the vibrant shapes of many Triumph classics. Based on a slightly modified Triumph Herald chassis and drive train the Spitfire is easy and cheap to service. On opening the large bonnet, the engine and the front suspension are fully disclosed for easy access.

The 1296 cc four cylinder in-line engine delivers 68 horsepower and is mated with a 4-speed manual gearbox which directs the power to the rear wheels. With a weight of only 715 kilogrammes the compact Spitfire MKIII offers a lively performance and a great open top driving experience.

The car comes with extra spare parts, extra wheels and tyres. Invoices of recent service are available.
