The back seats still show the original leather with silver piping.
This magnificent ‘Big Healey’ of the final and most refined MK III phase 2 series was shipped to the USA on 24 April 1967. In 2002 the car was registered by its last American owner, Mr. S Douglas from Moorpark California. In 2008 the car was shipped to its new owner in Denmark (Mr. E. Siersbae). In 2021 this fine Healey was sold to the Schmidt family by CC-Cars in Denmark. On 10 September 2025 the car was shipped to the Netherlands, fully checked and brought up to date, and added to our sales collection.
This magnificent Austin Healey MK III phase 2 was cherished by its owners and cautiously kept and serviced over the decades. The bodywork was repainted in the past, the interior newly upholstered (bar the back seats), and the wiring loom was renewed. This Austin Healey is in a very good and wonderful condition and the car drives and sounds perfectly! The automobile is fitted with chrome wire wheels shod with Michelin 180 HR 15 XAS tyres (fitted in 2021), chrome eared ‘knock on’ wheel nuts, and adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen, overdrive, heater, a Stainless-Steel exhaust, and a sports steering wheel with wood rim. The Austin Healey 3000 MK III phase 2 is the final edition of the legendary Austin Healey series which started with the Healey ‘100’ presented by Donald Healey on the 1952 Earls Court Motor Show in London.
The final edition comes with a lot of upgrades and refinements like a 150 bhp six cylinder engine, a higher and better sprung rear end for a more comfortable ride, an easy to erect and to fold convertible top replacing the loose ‘weather equipment’ with ‘tent poles’ of the early models, roll-up windows in the doors instead of loose ‘side screens’, and a plush comfortable interior with lap safety belts.
The car comes with a history file from 2002, a service list from 2008, a Heritage certificate, and the original California title. The Austin Healey is one of the ‘stand out’ British sports cars, this example with matching numbers and colours is a wonderful driver car in a very good condition! Ready to be fully enjoyed!
