The mid-engined layout was first presented by Enzo Ferrari under the name of his deceased son Dino. Under the Dino name mid-engined sports prototypes were developed starting with the 1965 Dino 166P which was powered by a 2 litre Ferrari V6 racing engine with twin overhead camshafts. In 1967 the Dino 206 GT became the first road-going Ferrari sports car to use a mid-engined layout AND a V6 engine. From 1969 until 1974 the 246 GT was built with a 2.4 litre engine capacity. A total of 2295 246 GT cars were built.

The presented Ferrari Dino 246 GT was first registered in on 30 June 1971. In the year 1990 the car was registered in Japan, in November 2014 the Dino was imported to the Netherlands. After arrival in the Netherlands the car was beautifully repainted in silver metallic and sold to the current owner in May 2015. This magnificent Dino 246 GT is in a wonderful and very good condition! The bodywork, paint, and chrome trim are in excellent condition. The interior is in a wonderful original condition. The car shows stunning original details, and it drives and handles perfectly! Technically and mechanically, this gorgeous Dino 246 GT is fully up to date, the car was serviced and maintained by S2 Classic Cars for the last ten years. The car is currently registered in the Netherlands, the car can be road registered everywhere around the globe.
The Ferrari Dino 246 GT is a highly appreciated and very popular Ferrari model. In 2004, Sports Car International placed the car at number six on its list of Top Sports Cars of the 1970s. Motor Trend Classic placed the 206/246 at number seven in their list of the 10 “Greatest Ferraris of all time”!
